Guinness-flavoured burritos, crepes and BROWNIES are among the St Patrick’s Day offerings being offered up by UK takeaways this weekend.

A new study has unearthed some of the weird and wonderful dishes being prepared for the big Irish celebration across the country, with a green burger among the lip-smacking list.

The so-called “Big Green Philly Burger” was created by Twisted London and includes Guinness braised flank, beef patties, green peppers, green onions and green mustard.

It is topped off with herby green béchamel in a nod to the Emerald Isle.

Other Paddy’s Day dishes include a Guinness-infused beef brisket burrito by Barburrito and a Four-Leaf Crepe by Crêpeaffaire which is infused with Guinness and a sprinkling of apples, cinnamon and sultanas.

Uber Eats spokesman Toussaint Wattinne said: “Our St Paddy’s Feast means Ireland’s famous tipple can be at the heart of a celebratory meal rather than a glass on the side.

“Whether it’s pre-party dining or catering to your post St Paddy’s celebrations recovery – our unique menu means you can bring the celebrations to the dining table at home.

“All our restaurant partners have put a modern twist on a traditional ingredient and are offering our customers something truly unique to enjoy in the comfort of their home come St Paddy’s weekend.”

Onyx Murray by The Regency Club has taken the opportunity to get in on the celebration with a rich and spicy Guinness and lamb curry.

VQ have a Black Short Stack of baby back ribs smothered in a Guinness and whisky glaze sauce with cocannon potatoes and Twisted London have also made a Boozy Brownie laced with Guinness.

Ivan Dudak, Kitchen Operations Manager at Barburrito, said: “We never stop innovating at Barburrito and loved teaming up with Uber Eats to use Guinness within one of our recipes.

“We took our beef brisket, cooked slow, with a generous glug of Guinness into a red pepper, adobo chilli and tomato sauce. The result is delicious and has quickly become a team favourite.”

Tom Ewer, Head Chef at Twisted London, added: “We're thrilled to be celebrating St Patrick's Day with these two brand new Paddy-inspired recipes.

“The Big Green Philly is an Irish twist on our very popular Big Philly featuring Guinness braised flank, while our Boozy Brownie contains the famous ale too and a lovely infusion of Irish cream. We can't wait for Londoners to taste them."

Uber Eats is free to download from the Apple and Google Play app stores. The St Patrick’s Day feast will be available on the app in select areas between 16th and 18th March. (Uber Eats to share price information).
